Price Bailey advisers chosen as mentors for the Local Business Accelerators initiative

Paul Martin and Kirsty Pettit will be mentors in this initiative that will help accelerating young businesses that show great promise.

The Newspaper Society has initiated this project to find and help young businesses that show great promise. They’re the kind of businesses that will create new jobs, and of course great PR and editorial in the newspaper. They are the success stories waiting to happen.

Price Bailey is proud to be working both with the Herts & Essex Observer and Cambridge Evening News.

The prize…. £12,000 of free advertising in the local press and the chance to get personal mentoring from Deborah Meaden from Dragon’s Den.

Paul Martin said: “The aim of LBA is to identify the enterprises up and down the land that have the potential to lead us all to recovery. No other medium is better equipped to active a scheme in this scale; a scheme that requires local knowledge and national ambition.”

Criteria for shortlisted businesses:

  • Businesses should be a minimum of one year old and no more than three years old. They should show genuine promise.
  • They may have a great idea or product, or have found a new market.

A shortlist will be decided on 16 November and announced in the papers on 7 December. The three winners will be announced on 11 January 2012.

Paul and Kirsty are going to be working closely with the businesses to mentor them during spring to celebrate the success at the national winners event in May/June 2012.
