- Charles has been with Price Bailey since he started training as an accountant, and a partner since 1987.
Charles has been an audit partner in the past and chaired the firm’s technical committee for many years. He is also one of our executive directors, taking the finance directors’ role for the firm.
Charles now runs the firm’s tax planning department, dealing with corporate structuring, sale and purchase, transactions, a particular specialism in property development tax, and personal tax planning.
Charles is authorised under the Financial Services and Markets Act to advise on corporate finance matters and he accepts forensic instructions in commercial disputes, matrimonial matters, professional negligence claims, personal injury claims, partnership disputes and share valuations. He has given evidence in Court.

- Denise qualified as a chartered accountant in 1993 and has specialised in forensic accountancy since 1996. Assignments, accepted on behalf of the claimant, defendant or in a joint capacity include personal injury claims, commercial disputes, matrimonial matters and criminal cases.
Denise is fully conversant with the Civil Procedure Rules and the duties of experts and she is a member of the Expert Witness Institute and an affiliate member of Resolution.

- James Doggett is a specialist in corporation tax and advises the owners of Small and Medium sized enterprises on tax planning and their tax compliance obligations.
James qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2004 and in 2007, James qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor.
James has advised large UK and internationally based retail, manufacturing and service industry clients through to small owner managed businesses on their corporation tax planning and obligations. James has also spent a significant amount of time in transaction tax where he has experience of advising Management on all types of mergers and acquisitions transactions. During this time James focused on providing tax structuring and due diligence support to transactions with an enterprise value of typically £50 million.
James’ role within the Tax Consultancy Team is to look after the firm’s clients needs in connection with corporation tax and other tax planning advice.

- James has been working in the financial services sector for over sixteen years. He joined Price Bailey in 1998, established PB Financial Planning Ltd in 2001, and he has recently become a partner since he took charge of Price Bailey Private Client LLP in April 2007.
James’ role is to provide independent financial planning advice to the clients of Price Bailey, as well as planning and implementing the future strategies of the company.
Away from work, James’ interests include football on a Saturday afternoon and golf whenever he can. James is married to Karen and has a two young children, Abigail and William.

- Marcus would be your principal contact with regard to VAT planning and advice.
He has worked in VAT since 1982, firstly with Customs & Excise until 1989 and then as a Senior Manager with Grant Thornton in London.
In 2003 he joined Price Bailey to head up the VAT team. He is available for special assignments, health checks, planning and audit assistance as required.
Marcus is also a member of the VAT Practitioners Group and an Associate of the Institute of Indirect Taxation.
He has lectured extensively and has written numerous articles for technical and trade publications. He is the member for VAT on the UK200 Group Tax Panel.

- Mark joined Price Bailey in 1987 becoming a general practice manager before specialising in tax over 15 years ago.
Mark is a qualified Chartered Tax Adviser and manages the Bishop’s Stortford tax department.
In addition, Mark is one of the firm’s tax consultants specialising in trusts and capital taxes.
