Price Bailey’s Charity Day 2023 in aid of Samaritans

Price Bailey’s first charity day since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic saw Partners and staff from across our office locations come together on Tuesday 17th October to raise money in aid of our charity partner of the year, Samaritans.

Who are Samaritans?

Samaritans is a registered charity providing emotional support for individuals in distress, struggling to cope, or at risk of suicide. Every 10 seconds, Samaritans responds to a call for help. The charity supports anyone struggling to cope thanks to its 22,000 trained listening volunteers located in over 200 branches and locations across the UK and Ireland, along with 1,300 trained listener volunteers in prisons. The work of the organisation provides critical support to those in a time of crisis, often through its 24/7 telephone helpline.

What is Price Bailey’s charity day?

In addition to Price Bailey offering all staff two paid volunteering days each year, the firm also allocates an additional day to host a firm wide Charity Day; bringing staff across all our locations together to engage in a variety of fundraising activities with the aim of raising money for our charity partner.

This year’s Charity Day activities included car washing, a treasure hunt around London, bake sales, darts, table tennis and computer game tournaments, blind taste tests, a firm wide quiz and – a regular favourite – Partner stocks. In addition, volunteers from each office could be found at our local train stations including Cambridge, London King’s Cross, London Charing Cross, Bishop’s Stortford and Norwich where they were gathering support from members of the public who wanted to donate to Samaritans.

Activities on the day took place across our Sawston, Bishop’s Stortford, Norwich, Peterborough and London offices and we hope to announce the total amount raised on the day in November. Our people at Price Bailey have been raising money throughout the year and Price Bailey will be matching donations up to £50,000, which will be shared between Samaritans and other local worthwhile causes.

Where can I find out more?

This year’s Charity Day was a real success for the firm. It was a great pleasure to see our Charity Day reinstated once again, with so many colleagues taking part across the entire practice – raising funds and awareness for Samaritans
