The team

The Business team provides a mix of accounting services ranging from bookkeeping and year end accounts preparations, including tax returns, to our rapidly growing and innovative cloud accounting service line. We have a relationship centric approach and are trusted advisors to clients of all shapes and sizes, but they are typically owner managed businesses, giving you the opportunity to deal directly with the decision makers and to truly help shape the direction of their firm.

In our London based Business team, you will be responsible for a mixed portfolio of clients requiring statutory accounts preparations and tax computations, plus some that need advisory services, with turnovers of up to £10m.

The role

As an Accounts Semi-Senior / Senior you will have ownership of the following tasks:

  • Completing moderate to large accounts preparation assignments, including the accompanying tax computations
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and VAT returns where appropriate
  • Clearing more complex queries directly with client and suggesting sensible solutions
  • Reviewing team members’ work before passing to manager
  • Coaching juniors and providing feedback on the quality of their work and performance
  • Controlling assignment timeframes in line with pre-determined budget

The person

You might not have all of the experience below, but if you meet the minimum criteria and are passionate about developing yourself, we’d love to hear from you:

  • A professional accounting qualification – fully or part qualified ACA or ACCA (minimum criteria)
  • Experience of working in an accountancy practice preparing sets of accounts (minimum criteria)
  • Up to date working knowledge of tax issues, in particular personal tax
  • Experience of using Sage, Xero and Quickbooks Online
  • Client facing experience
