Audit Supervisor – City of London

Role Overview

  • You will work as part of the established Corporate team based in London on a mixed portfolio of clients across a range of industries/sectors which will see you performing the accurate and efficient processing of client accounting information. Supervisors are the first step towards management and as such, tend to take a more technical and team-orientated role than Seniors and are more involved in overseeing productivity.
  • This stage of career development tests the individual’s ability to juggle multiple tasks including reviewing and finalising files for manager/partner review whilst overseeing the team’s range of assignments and monitoring work in progress. It is at Supervisor level that you may begin to manage your own portfolio

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Assist managers in the planning, control and review of larger, more complex assignments.
  • Clear the more complex queries directly with client and suggests sensible conclusions.
  • Proactively try to build client relationships and act as a second point of contact to the portfolio holder
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of assignment plan, instructions and time budgets before assignment begins and brief team members accordingly.
  • Ensure assignments are progressing and are in line with commercial targets set.
  • Complete client assignment files for minimal manager or partner review.
  • Act as the main client contact on behalf of a manager/partner for selected client assignments.
  • Respond effectively to all routine tax compliance matters occurring within the client assignments.
  • Display consistent competence in the assessment of materiality and risk as demonstrated by effective assignment planning.
  • Identify client work requiring specialist skills, referring matters to PB specialists as appropriate, including adding value and identifying opportunities in which PB can assist the client further.
  • Display strong and pro-active awareness of current legislation and changes, relating them where appropriate to client assignments.
  • Demonstrate an excellent rapport with clients enabling  management to entrust and delegate client communications and correspondence
  • Prove suitability to develop to a future portfolio holder by demonstrating commercial awareness and control in assignment budgets, WIP and assignment recoveries

Person Specification:

Work based competencies 

  • ACA/ACCA Fully qualified
  • 2-3 years experience of planning and working on audits of various sizes
  • Prior experience in supporting/training junior team members
