Cashier/Accounts Assistant – Sawston

Role Overview 

  • To provide administrative support for our finance and insolvency teams.
  • To deliver a high standard of administrative support and world class customer service in line with Price Bailey’s strategies, policies and procedures
  • To maintain client confidentiality, data protection and other legislative and organisational responsibilities


Principle Responsibilities:

  • Checking bank accounts online on a daily basis for receipts received
  • Payments and deposit account transactions (international payments too) online with and Metro Bank via CHAPS & BACS
  • Banking on a daily basis
  • Posting all receipts and payments onto the Insolvency Practitioners System software (‘IPS’)
  • Bank account set up, closure and placing onto non-interest bearing
  • Maintaining client accounts on IPS
  • Processing fees on cases, payments of fees and updating the spreadsheet
  • Opening up new cases on IPS
  • Updating various case schedules
  • Updating ISA accounts with biannual interest and quarterly bank charges
  • Maintaining the PBIR C/A on a daily basis
  • Daily/monthly client bank account reconciliations (IPS and designated client accounts)
  • To provide holiday and sick cover for the Finance Cashier (processing payroll and other payments via the online banking system)
  • Printing Price Bailey bank statements daily and posting receipts to Practice Engine
  • Checking payroll and other ad-hoc payments set up by Cashier
  • Processing direct debit collections for the firm on a weekly basis


Person Specification:

Work based Competencies

  • Word, Excel and Outlook to Advanced Level
  • Excellent customer service and telephone manner
  • Experience in professional services would be an advantage
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
