Outsourcing Supervisor – Norwich

Role Overview

  • The role of Outsourcing Supervisor is to oversee one of the smaller teams within the Cloud Accounting Hub – designed to operate as an extension of the local outsourcing team in another of our offices. It will involve working closely with the Outsourcing Supervisor in the local office to ensure client deadlines are met and facilitating transfer of workload between the two teams. This role will also see you take responsibility for the day to day supervision/management of a team of up to 4 people, including managing workload, staff development and training as well as reviewing processes for efficiency. This will also involve the review of work prepared by the team to ensure technically correct and accurate for presentation to portfolio manager.
  • You will be required to gain detailed software and service knowledge to aid in the preparation of proposals for outsourcing services and to aid in business development and on-boarding of new clients locally


Principle Responsibilities:

Personal Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the delivery of outsourcing services for a mixed and demanding portfolio of clients
  • Plan ahead and manage team workload to ensure internal and external deadlines are met
  • Oversee the delivery of outsourcing tasks on Xero, QuickBooks online and Sage line 50. The services you will be responsible for delivering will include:-
    • Preparation and review of monthly/quarterly management accounting,
    • Overseeing and review of bookkeeping,
    • Preparation and review of VAT returns and EC Sales.
    • Provision of sound business advice, including identifying potential further service opportunities.
  • Facilitate the transfer of existing clients within Price Bailey to the outsourcing team and take responsibility for their on boarding
  • Establish scope of assignments and determine the best approach to take
  • Advise clients on optimum processes and suitable systems to achieve objectives laid out
  • Design and implement systems/procedures for each assignment
  • Brief team members on each assignment and oversee the handover for processing
  • Assist clients with VAT and tax investigations
  • Provide clients with forecasts and assist with compilation of budgets
  • Prepare cash flow reports and projections.
  • Meet and advise clients with manager on tax planning and general business queries
  • Answer clients queries in regards to tax and business affairs

Team Responsibilities

  • Direct day to day management of a team of 2-4 varied in role from trainee cloud accountants, assistant cloud accountants and management accounts
  • Train and develop the team and report/suggest any training or performance issues to line manager.
  • Organise work-flow for the team and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Assist in the line-management of the team, including feedback on performance and delivery of appraisals.
  • Support, guide and help others on work assignments giving clear instructions and aid development
  • Thoroughly brief team members on assignments and monitor their progress with budgets in mind.


Person Specification:

Work based competencies:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified/Part Qualified
  • Up to date working knowledge of tax including MTD
  • Patient and positive in staff training
  • Experience in compiling management accounts
  • Good telephone manner, email communication skills and customer service levels.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, knowledge of cloud based systems is an advantage
