FlowerBe

A blossoming company to flourish in their next steps for growth

FlowerBe

FlowerBe is a premium flower subscription service that delivers unusual varieties of flowers and interior design inspiration direct to the customer’s door. Founded in 2016 by brother and sister team Sean and Lisa based in Cardiff, their aim is to create a service that moves away from the humdrum mass-produced supermarket offering to one that meets consumer aspiration, needs and lifestyle.

FlowerBe aims to celebrate the beauty of bringing together seasonal flowers with inspirational interiors. They deliver flowers nationally and offer customers a flexible, user-friendly subscription and gifting service that suits their customers’ lifestyle.

The challenge

FlowerBe gained early traction in the market, generating revenues within the first four months of trading and were planning the next stage of growth for the business. On their accountants, Graham Paul’s recommendation, they headed to Price Bailey for help.

The outcome

Initially, our Strategic Corporate Finance (SCF) team conducted market research to provide proof of demand for their unique selling position and assisted them in understanding what this meant for their growth strategy. By identifying a clear target market and consumer purchase habits, the Price Bailey team were able to help Sean and Lisa hone their sales and marketing strategy. In turn, revealing a clear funding requirement.

The SCF team went on to support Sean and Lisa in their preparation for fundraising, responsible for conducting valuation research and creating a forecast cap table that enabled them to identify an appropriate share price. In addition, the team gave detailed guidance on the development of appropriate investment documentation to enable the owners to market the company to potential investors.

By this stage, the team were working very closely with FlowerBe and a strong working relationship had been established. Price Bailey went on to support them to raise equity investment from their own network, advising them on an appropriate deal structure, with support from our tax consulting team to ensure the investment would be Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) and Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) eligible. In the process, the team introduced them to two credible non-executive directors from within the Price Bailey network who have since joined the FlowerBe board and are providing critical advice on digital marketing and tech development.

FlowerBe is dedicated to bringing flowers back into the heart of interior design. With their expert arrangement guides, collaboration with interior specialists and future product development plans in the pipeline, Price Bailey is looking forward to continuing to support FlowerBe in what promises to be a very exciting future ahead.
