Chloe Ackroyd of Norwich-based Chartered Accountants Price Bailey, is turning heads with a new look after raising more than £1,133 Alzheimer’s Research UK, the country’s leading dementia research charity.
Chloe braved the clippers today courtesy of local hairdressers Michelle Occhionero and Angie Oakes from Studio 2 in Catton. The event took place at Price Bailey’s Norwich office, with encouragement from supportive friends, family and colleagues. It is one of a series of fundraisers held by Price Bailey for the charity, with donations to-date in excess of £26,000.
Chloe said: “I was inspired to do something for the Alzheimer’s Research after learning about them at our annual charity day last year. I’ve seen first-hand the impact this illness can have on people and I wanted to do something to help. I’m touched by how supportive people have been, the reactions have been absolutely lovely.”
Chloe has also pledged to donate her shaved hair to The Little Princess Trust; a charity that provides real hair wigs to children across the UK who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
Jessica Sayer, Regional Fundraising Officer at Alzheimer’s Research UK, said: “We can’t thank Chloe enough for taking on this incredibly brave challenge as part of Price Bailey’s fundraising for us. There are 850,000 people in the UK living with dementia, including around 13,000 people in Norfolk alone. Alzheimer’s Research UK is leading the fightback against dementia, which we wouldn’t be able to do without the help of wonderful supporters such as Price Bailey and Chloe.”
