Leading regional accountants and business advisers Price Bailey is sponsoring East Cambs Business Boost 2019. A not-for-profit event that brings together more than 400 East Cambridgeshire SMEs for a day of networking, business exhibitions and keynote speaker sessions.
In its third year, the event will focus on the theme ‘Rise’ to reflect business growth and success and features some great headline speakers. Top of the bill will be Levi Roots, who shot to fame after his memorable appearance on Dragons’ Den. In that episode, Roots secured the investment he needed from dragons Peter Jones and Richard Farleigh for his spicy ‘Reggae Reggae sauce’, and is now a household name.
Roots will be speaking to local businesses about his journey from a street vendor to multi-million-pound brand success. Commenting on this year’s theme Roots said “The event theme of “Rise’ is one that resonates with businesses and entrepreneurs. I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences.” Roots went on to say that he’ll be “emphasising the importance of putting the ‘best version of yourself’ into your brand to take on challenges and rise to success”.
William Wilson, Partner at Price Bailey, explained why Price Bailey has become involved and wanted to support the event. “As a firm, we’ve had an office in Ely for over 30 years. We act for local and national businesses throughout their life cycle, from the daunting but exciting period of startup through to a potential sale and retirement. We enjoy working closely with our clients, we support our clients by understanding the challenges they face and using our experience and expertise to help them develop and thrive. We believe in collaboration and that too many business owners spend too much time in the business and not enough on the business. Events such as the East Cambs Business Boost encourage businesses to perch, think about their strategy, learn from others and network with the wider business community. We look forward to meeting many of the regions’ businesses on the day to discuss the range of service the National Firm of the year can offer them from Ely High Street.”
Other high-profile speakers at the event include ex-Special Forces and counter-terrorism expert Jem Hills and online tech giants Google. Jem will explore how businesses can overcome challenges to achieve success, while Google will be talking about the best use of digital marketing techniques for local SMEs.
East Cambs Business Boost 2019, which was created through a joint initiative by East Cambridgeshire District Council and Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce, will take place at Littleport Leisure Centre on 14th November 2019.
