We are pleased to announce the appointment of Daphne Hemingway as VAT Partner with effect from 1 February 2019, bringing the total number of Partners in the practice to 28 across ten offices.
Daphne is a highly experienced and well-regarded VAT practitioner who has worked at three of the Big Four accountancy firms in a career which also includes a stint working in industry (at Barclays Bank). She has considerable experience in property and financial services (including M&A), VAT litigation, and more recently, advising businesses trading in the Middle East on the introduction of VAT, all of which will further enhance our already strong offering in these areas.
With the potential for real change in her field as we approach Brexit and the commencement of Making Tax Digital, Daphne’s skills and leadership of our VAT offering will be invaluable to our clients.
The firm-wide role Daphne takes on will be primarily based out of Price Bailey’s City of London office. Commenting on the appointment, Head of Tax and Partner, Charles Olley said: “We are very fortunate to have secured Daphne’s talent; she joins our expanding team as part of our drive to offer a greater breadth and depth of expertise throughout Price Bailey. She has significant experience and joins us from a leading local firm of accountants. It is testament to our growing reputation that we are able to attract people of Daphne’s calibre.”
Daphne Hemingway added: “I am delighted to be joining Price Bailey and welcome the challenge of adding my experience and expertise to an already comprehensive tax offering from the firm. The VAT issues facing UK and overseas businesses have never seemed more complicated and our aim is to offer a good value service that offers peace of mind and reassurance.”
