Following one of the most successful years in the firm’s history, chartered accountant and business advisor Price Bailey has moved three places higher in the annual league table produced by industry publication, Accountancy Age. The firm has moved from 31st to 28th position.

The last year was one of the most successful ever for the firm, with fee income of almost £22 million, up nearly 8 percent on the previous year, and an almost 80 percent improvement in operating profit.

“Our growth in turnover over the last year is exceptional, and is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everybody at Price Bailey,” said Price Bailey Managing Director, Martin Clapson. “In the last ten years we’ve moved from being in the country’s top 60 accountancy firms to our current position, an indication of how we have grown in both size and success.”

Martin acknowledges that the firm’s employees are central to its success and for that reason the firm recently made history in the professional services sector by offering its 300 employees shares in the firm, and has been announced as a finalist in the British Accountancy Awards ‘Best Employer of the Year’ category.

The merger with accountancy firm Beechams last October and numerous significant client wins have all contributed to the firm’s recent growth, together with the appointment of ten new partners and significant investment in the Tax, Legal Service, Insolvency and Recovery and Financial planning teams. The firm has no plans to rest on its laurels however. It is broadening its international reach with new offices recently opening in Guernsey and St Lucia.

Growth has not been at the cost of customer service however. “We know we have excellent relationships with our clients, with many having been with us for more than 10 years. Clearly our past and future success is down to us continuing to provide the best possible service to them,” he added. “Without them we wouldn’t be in the position we are now.”
