Price Bailey sponsorship brings a touch of magic to investment dinner 6 March 2018 Share More than 350 of Guernsey’s leading financial managers and advisers celebrated another successful year for the island’s investment community last week, at an event proudly sponsored by Price Bailey chartered accountants and business advisers. The Annual Dinner of the Guernsey Investment Fund Association (GIFA) took place on Friday [March 2] at St Peter Port’s Beau Séjour Centre, where guests were able to enjoy great food, live music, and entertainment from magicians and ‘Victorian illusionists’ Morgan & West. The event has become a popular date in Guernsey’s financial calendar, with all of the main investment businesses attending. Kirsty Warner, a Partner with the Price Bailey Channel Islands team, said the company was delighted to be able to support the event. “The GIFA Annual Dinner is an important night for Guernsey’s investment community – it’s a great opportunity to celebrate the successful contribution that the sector makes, as well as networking and building contacts in a really sociable setting,” said Kirsty. “Friday’s dinner was fantastic fun, and the food and entertainment were both first class. Price Bailey has been an integral part of the island’s financial community since we opened our office here nine years ago, so we were pleased and proud to be able to sponsor the dinner.” GIFA was established in 1989 to represent the island’s fund management industry; its members include fund managers, administrators and custodians, as well as professional services firms closely involved in the sector. Price Bailey launched its Guernsey office in 2009, following a merger with respected local chartered accountants, Colin Pickard & Co, and has gone on to become a well-established and highly regarded member of the island’s business community. Price Bailey sponsored the after-dinner entertainment for Friday’s event, provided by vaudevillian-style magicians Morgan & West, whose act combining humour and magic has drawn glowing reviews from the Edinburgh Fringe to theatres across the country, and on TV shows including Penn & Teller and The Slammer.
