Price Bailey chartered accountants and business advisers has been named ‘Comprehensive Start-Up Services – Adviser of the Year’ in an international award scheme recognising the achievements and contribution of companies across the financial technology (FinTech) sector.

The annual Finance Monthly FinTech Awards honour businesses around the world that design, develop and implement new technology in the financial sector, as well as the professional services firms who support and advise those cutting-edge businesses.

Price Bailey works with a number of innovative FinTech businesses (both start-ups and established companies) across Cambridge, Norwich and the east of England. Paul Cullen, who heads the Corporate team at Price Bailey, said the firm was “delighted” that its work in the sector had been recognised.

“FinTech – and the wider technology sector – is a key part of the economy across the east of England, and the tech community in Cambridge in particular is thriving,” said Paul. “We provide a wide range of services to companies in this sector, and we’ve been able to work closely with a number of highly successful FinTech and technology start-ups. We’re very proud that our work has been recognised in the FinTech Awards 2018, alongside companies from America, Africa, Asia and Australasia, as well as the UK and rest of Europe.”

A spokesman for Finance Monthly magazine said: “Our team has spent the past several months carefully researching and identifying some of the most respected individuals and firms from all over the world, including those that devise and design new financial technology and those that implement new systems, which in turn enhance customer experience.

“The Finance Monthly FinTech Awards recognise the true innovators who help drive the FinTech sector forward and help make the sector what it is today.”

Price Bailey recently strengthened the technology offering within its Corporate team with the appointment of Andrew Mason as a Director in its Cambridge office. Andrew joins the company from a leading Cambridge-based accountancy firm with 20 years’ audit and accountancy experience, much of it working within the technology sector.

The ‘Comprehensive Start-Up Services – Adviser of the Year’ award was Price Bailey’s third award from Finance Monthly magazine in the past two years. The firm’s Channel Islands office was named ‘International Advisory Firm of the Year in Guernsey’ at Finance Monthly’s Global Awards 2017, and the same office won the ‘Accounting & Auditing – Advisory Firm of the Year, Channel Islands’ in the Finance Monthly M&A Awards 2017.
