Stephen’s Professional Experience

Stephen Reed standing in office smilingStephen’s career began in 1985 when he began training at Larking Gowen. Progressing through his time there, Stephen founded the Corporate Finance department and led the team as Corporate Finance Director for nearly ten years. In 2008, Stephen moved to PKF before joining Price Bailey in 2012. Stephen has been a Price Bailey Partner within the Strategic Corporate Finance department for more than 10 years.

With approaching 40 years’ accountancy experience, Stephen has specialised in corporate finance since 1999 and holds the Institute’s Advanced Diploma in Corporate Finance. Based in our Norwich office, but working across Price Bailey’s entire region as part of a 20 strong team, he offers lead advisory services to owner managed businesses across the full spectrum of strategy and corporate finance services including business disposals, mergers and acquisitions, management and employee (EOT) buy-outs, due diligence reporting, valuations, private equity fundraising, debt funding and refinancing assignments.

Stephen and the team work closely with their colleagues in the Corporate, Tax and Strategy Consulting teams in delivering innovative solutions for clients across a range of M&A requirements and Stephen is always willing to spend time with business owners needing support or guidance. He enjoys working with owner managed businesses and uses his experience to identify problems early on in any transaction process to ensure a pragmatic and workable solution is found. Stephen often contributes articles for the Price Bailey website in order to keep our clients up to date on topics such as preparing for selling your business, due diligence services, mergers and acquisitions, as well as contributing client stories and case studies in order to demonstrate recent work completed by the Strategic Corporate Finance team. Stephen also supports junior members of the department in creating relevant content for our audience, including relevant sector led content that investigates key M&A trends in those sectors.
