Simon trained with Price Bailey and returned in 2009 to build the current Strategic Corporate Finance Team. Simon is also a member of the Executive Board at Price Bailey leading our own acquisition strategy. He works across all of Price Bailey’s offices, and recently opened the Oxford office.

Simon is a specialist adviser for owner managed business, advising on the lifecycle of a client’s business from a corporate finance and M&A (mergers and acquisitions) perspective.  He is particularly interested in family business, and advises a number of families on succession and generational transition. His M&A work will include assessing, identifying and sourcing funding requirements, whether for organic growth, acquisition or re-financing; The focus of Simon’s work is usually at the board room table, acting as lead advisor, coordinating the team involved in the transaction including others as required.

Simon also undertakes a wider range of business valuation for both M&A activity, dispute resolution, tax purposes (share schemes, probate, restructuring); investigative services, including due diligence as a single joint expert or shadow expert.

Simon is a very active part of Price Bailey’s international business development team travelling extensively including Europe, Africa, Asia and regularly to the US and an active and regular speaker and contributor at both IAPA and other conferences and events on corporate finance and valuation matters.

As well as his position on the Board at Price Bailey, Simon is also a director of Lamb’s Passage Holding Limited, and Board observer for its subsidiary, Kingdom Bank Limited.

Simon is heavily involved in similar work in the not-for-profit sector, especially in the social finance and impact investment sector.

He was co-Chair of Trustees at Safe Families, having led the merger with Home For Good in 2024 and was Chair of Trustees of Stewardship until June 2022.  He also advises several other charities in the UK and overseas.

Beyond professional life, Simon is married with two adopted sons and a daughter in law, is an active Christian attending Christchurch Cambridge. He most enjoys walking the beaches and coast of the UK, particularly Cornwall and Scotland and exploring other distant parts of the UK in his campervan or skiing in the Alps with friends and family.
