Heather Miller, Head of Private Client Tax at Price Bailey chartered accountants and business advisers has been shortlisted for the ‘Accountancy Leader of the Year Award’ at the Women in Finance Awards 2017.

Heather joined Price Bailey in 2016. Prior to this she ran her own consultancy, worked at a start-up private client tax boutique, and most recently managed partner tax affairs in-house at Magic Circle law firm Clifford Chance.

The inaugural Women in Finance Awards aims to be the finance industry’s largest diversity initiative, recognising the high-achievers, advocates and role models for women in the sector. The event will bring together key stakeholders to raise awareness of the sector’s diversity problem as well as celebrating inclusion, leadership and finance excellence.

Heather said: “I am honoured to have been included in a shortlist of such exceptionally talented women. Although improvement has been made in recent years, I believe there is still a lot that can be done to achieve parity between the genders within accountancy and both men and women can equally effect change.”

“It’s fantastic to be a part of a firm that has introduced policies that actively encourage and supports diversity in the workplace, notably the launch of our new SMART Working approach which allows the kind of flexibility required to balance home and work successfully.”

Jay Sanghrajka, Partner said: “We are thrilled that Heather has been shortlisted for this award. In the short time she has been with the firm, she has made an impressive contribution and has become a highly valued member of the team. She’s not afraid to voice her thoughts and works hard to influence positive change.”
