Price Bailey and Action Medical Research partnership raises over £107,000 for premature birth research

East Anglian-based chartered accountants and business advisers, Price Bailey, has completed a successful two-year partnership with Action Medical Research on a high after breaking a fundraising record for the firm raising £107,533.82 for vital research into preventing premature births.

The firm embarked on a series of fundraising initiatives over the two-year partnership, which included a charity bike ride to Paris, a charity ball and a netball tournament, culminating in a firm wide charity fundraising day which saw the team get involved in lots of events to fund vital research into premature birth.

The charity team at Price Bailey had set out to beat their previous fundraising record of £107,000 for the charity and managed to surpass their target earlier this month. The money raised was in support of their ‘Saving Tiny Lives’ campaign. The campaign focuses on generating funds to carry out research into reducing premature births. Around 60,000 babies are born prematurely in the UK, and sadly 1,000 tragically die making it the biggest cause of death in babies; for those that do survive, it’s also the leading cause of disability.

James King, Corporate Social Responsibility Partner at Price Bailey, said: “What a fantastic end to our partnership with Action Medical Research. This goes to show that the cause really captured the hearts and imaginations of our colleagues. There have been so many highlights from over the past two years, and it’s an honour to have been able to be part of Action’s cause.”

Lyndsay Wood, East Region Fundraising Manager at Action Medical Research, said: “The engagement and support Action Medical Research has received from staff across Price Bailey over the last two years has been astonishing.  From cycling to Paris and trekking the Three Peaks, to two hugely successful charity days and a charity ball (to name just a few!) – Action could not be more grateful to the staff for getting behind our cause and helping us to invest in further research into premature birth. Something that affects over 60,000 babies in the UK each year.”
