Price Bailey won National Firm of the Year against Top 10 opposition as well as Graduate Programme of the Year.
Price Bailey, the top 30 Chartered Accountants and business advisers, has won National Firm of the Year, the highest accolade, at the 2018 British Accountancy Awards. The firm also won the Graduate and Non-Graduate Programme of the Year award. The British Accountancy Awards are recognised as the industry’s most prestigious accolades and awarded to firms which have demonstrated excellence in the profession.
Price Bailey won the National Firm of the Year award in recognition of its excellence in combining steady, organic growth with delivering excellence in client service. The judges identified the firm’s Contact Time initiative as being particularly worthy of praise. Contact Time, which is believed to be unique among accountancy firms, encourages Price Bailey Partners and staff to spend additional time with clients without charging them, allowing the firm to nurture client relationships over the long term and develop a deeper understanding of clients’ needs. The firm was also commended for its approach to encouraging flexible working and deepening engagement with local communities.
Price Bailey was pitted against substantially larger firms in the shortlist for National Firm of the Year. It was by far the smallest shortlisted firm by fee income and up against Top 10 firms Smith & Williamson, Moore Stephens and Mazars, as well as Crowe UK (ranked 14th). Price Bailey is ranked 26th nationally with a fee income of £26.5 million, compared with Smith & Williamson’s fee income of £242.6 million.
The Graduate and Non-Graduate Programme of the Year award recognised Price Bailey’s excellence in developing a business-led training programme which uses 21st century learning options and innovative ways to attract, retain and develop younger generations to the accountancy profession.
Martin Clapson, Managing Partner of Price Bailey, comments: “Winning National Firm of the Year against such calibre of competition is a testament to the innovation, commitment and hard work of the Price Bailey team throughout the year. It is highly unusual for a relatively small firm with a substantial regional presence to win this prestigious accolade and demonstrates that it is possible to combine top-level service with a personal, family-oriented culture that ensures we remain deeply embedded in the local communities we know so well in East Anglia. At the same time, our offices in London and the Channel Islands service a growing roster of national and international clients.”
Nadia Khan, HR Partner at Price Bailey on winning Graduate and Non-Graduate Programme of the Year: “We are delighted that our hard work over the years developing our approach to attracting and nurturing emerging talent has been recognised by this award. Our commitment to identifying and developing diverse local talent from schools, colleges and universities ensure that our people reflect the diversity of our clients. Our bespoke programmes, which enables our talent to develop their own unique contribution to the success and growth of the firm, is very much aligned with our focus on long-lasting and meaningful client relationships.”
