Price Bailey editorial process

Price Bailey is a full-service accountancy and business advisory firm, working across a wide range of sectors and services. We have dedicated industry experts across the firm, and our content covers the issues that affect our clients’ businesses, families and their own lives. All our authors are client facing, so their input reflects the challenges clients are actually raising with them. This page explains how that content is written, checked, and kept current.

Who writes our content

Content is created by a dedicated team spanning editors, content specialists, market researchers and data analysists, PR managers, search and AI optimisation specialists, social media and communication specialists and graphic designers. This team works closely with subject matter experts from across the firm (our authors) to shape content that resonates with the reader or listener, and every piece is thoroughly reviewed by the expert involved before publication.

Content is published under the name of the subject matter expert who reviewed it. Where a specialist does not yet have an author page, content is published under the name from an editor and member of our Content team, but it has still been through the full review process described below.

A full list of our contributing authors, with their credentials and specialisms, is available at the bottom of this page.

Technical review

Technical review is carried out by the subject matter expert (the author) who has the relevant qualifications and experience. Where content draws on more than one specialism, all contributing experts review it before it is published.

Proofing

Once content has technical sign-off, our Content team proofs it for clarity, grammar, and consistency with Price Bailey style before it is published. We take care at every stage to avoid mistakes, but if you spot one, please let us know using the details in the Corrections section below.

Research and fact-checking

Our Marketing team has a dedicated research team that both underpins content with relevant data and creates bespoke research reports, e-books, and blogs on financial, economic, and sector-based trends. The team continuously analyses a broad range of topics using data from a number of sources, including company intelligence databases we subscribe to, Freedom of Information requests, and collaborations with other research providers.

We carry out primary research as well as secondary research. Content relating to tax rates, thresholds, legislation, or regulatory change is checked against the original source rather than a secondary summary.

All qualified staff who contribute to content complete regular CPD, and many also host webinars, join industry roundtables, and contribute to wider industry commentary. Our Marketing team completes regular CPD too, within their own disciplines, to keep their content, SEO, and research skills current.

We aim to lead on the topics we cover rather than repeat what is already in the news, which is what sets our content apart from many competitors in the sector.

How we choose what to write about

We respond to what is happening in the wider world: topical news relevant to our clients, fiscal events such as the Budget, and sector trends we are tracking. Where news is the trigger, our aim is to add our own expert interpretation and practical guidance, not simply repeat what has already been reported. Our market research and data teams also feed into this, drawing on our own research, FOI requests, and data updates, so some content is prompted by findings we have generated ourselves rather than external events.

Topics are also led by what our client-facing teams tell us their clients are asking about, alongside inbound enquiries, where we track which subjects are generating a rise in queries and use that to prioritise new content. We also create content to support outbound business development, covering areas the firm aims to build a stronger presence in.

How we keep content current

All content is reviewed periodically – at least annually. Content covering areas that change frequently, such as tax and legislation, is reviewed regularly, and each piece shows the date it was last reviewed.

As part of our content reviews, content that no longer reflects current law or guidance is updated or removed.

Use of AI

We occasionally use AI tools to help with research and drafting in a limited way. Everyone on the Marketing team who uses AI in content creation is trained in, and works to, our internal AI use policy. We see technology as part of how we keep our content relevant and useful for clients, alongside the expertise of our authors.

Editorial independence

Generating new business is part of why we create content, and we don’t pretend otherwise. However, what we can say clearly is that our content is never paid placement, and it is not written to mislead or to overstate what a service can do. Some areas of the firm publish more content than others, which usually reflects where we have more specialists, a longer-established service, or a larger client base in that area, not any kind of preferential treatment.

Our regulation

Price Bailey LLP and Price Bailey Group Limited are registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) to carry out audit work in the UK, and our work is governed by the ICAEW Code of Ethics. Full details of our regulatory status, registration numbers, and the professional bodies we work under are set out on our legal information page.
