Matt Howard Staff photo at Price Bailey Norwich officeMatt joined Price Bailey in 2015 as an Insolvency and Recovery Partner, having previously worked as a partner for various firms throughout his career. Matt took on the role of Head of Insolvency & Recovery at Price Bailey in 2020, he is also the lead Partner across East Anglia for Escalate Disputes; a resolution and debt recovery service which Price Bailey have an exclusive license to operate across the region. Escalate Disputes provides access to justice for SME’s by assisting them to recover the estimated £130bn tied up in late payments and disputes/unpaid debt in the UK each year.

Matt’s 28 years of industry experience is evident through his variety of work, from independent business reviews and solvent liquidations, to working on a significant number of high-profile insolvency cases in East Anglia.

Matt is a Fellow of the Insolvency Practitioners Association (FIPA) and the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (FABRP), as well as being an Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) affiliate. More about Matt.

Matt has been highly influential in his production of content for Price Bailey, regularly providing insolvency updates in various formats. Matt has produced video content to demystify formal insolvency options and detail why using Escalate to recover debts is so important, as well as leading webinars surrounding cashflow management and Escalate’s capabilities.

Matt has written numerous articles on topics such as: unpaid debts and maintaining a healthy relationship with debtors, insolvency law amendments, late payment culture, and the Trade Credit Reinsurance Scheme.

Matt has been featured in numerous publications, such as the Financial Times to provide his expert insight into insolvencies and rising interest rates. Matt has fronted research into pub and restaurant closures and insolvency in recent years, this has been referenced in numerous publications and reports such as The Times, as well as recent (November 2023) research into haulage businesses facing insolvency in the UK.

Matt also holds a relationship with local news outlets, having previously presented on regional TV and radio, including a regular slot on Radio Norfolk where he regularly reviewed local business news. He also contributes to the Eastern Daily Press and Norwich Evening News, discussing local liquidation cases.

Matt has previously spoken at a Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce event to discuss the dispute resolution market, as well as speaking at events such as Norwich’s commercial property market update (November 2023) to discuss challenges and opportunities currently facing the regional, national and international property market.

He contributed a chapter for the rural business guide “Doing Business in the Countryside” published by the Country Land and Business Association.
